Use Android SDK to Test Drive Android

Want a taste of Android? Download the Software Development Kit (SDK) to check out the interface and web browser for yourself. Keep in mind that everything on the android can be changed, even the user interface (UI) or web browser. After you download and extract, go to the tools folder and open emulator.exe. Give it a minute to load and your there.

I noticed that one of the options under a person’s contact information is the ability to send that person’s calls directly to your voicemail. Also, apparently while in a phone call when you receive a call there is a button to merge the calls. The interface makes setting up a conference call of multiple contacts easy. From what I have seen so far the browser is as capable as a PC browser. In fact, I am writing this post using the Android browser. It has the ability to remember passwords in the same manner Firefox does. I don’t know how to get the emulator in landscape mode which would make web browsing more comfortable but I know the actual phone can easily do this using the accelerometer.

  1. sweet! thanks core, i’m downloading the software right now. 🙂 hey you should write a blog about the 360degree view page.
