What Google Products will do for you in the future

Filed under: Google, Technology — coretron @ 10:05 pm

Your friends are going to be at your house in an hour and you want Rockband. You search Google Products for “rockband xbox 360,” currently you get results from online retailers. In the future it will search the inventory of the stores near you. You can find where it is in stock, how much they are charging for it, and how far from your house it is. If I ask Google Products for a hard drive it will say it’s online for this much from these stores or locally for this much at these stores. Although Google has no apparent plans to do this, they have never failed to implement an idea I’ve had for them. If there is information out there that you want Google will get it and organize it for you at all costs.

Of course, some retailers may resist but others (WalMart?) may be open to the idea. Once some submit others will likely be forced to follow. And we all know what they say about resistance.
